KVPY Registrations Open

KVPY Registrations 2019 have been started from 8th July. The last date to register online is 20th August. As per the schedule released by IISc Bangalore, KVPY Exam is scheduled to be conducted on 3 November in online mode. Students are advised to check KVPY eligibility criteria properly before filling the registrations forms.  The registrations are open for all the three streams: KVPY SA (for Class 11th students), SX (class 12th students) and SB (B. Sc first year students).  

About KVPY Scholarship Exam

KVPY, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, is a national level scholarship exam started by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. As the name itself suggests, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is for students interested in basic science and research career. KVPY Scholarship is awarded on the basis of KVPY exam followed by a face to face interview round. Students studying in Class 11, 12 and first year of basic science course (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc./Int.M.S) can apply for KVPY 2019. KVPY Fellowship – Benefits & Scholarship Amount

Students selected under KVPY Fellowship Program are known as KVPY Fellows. The scholarship amount provided to KVPY fellows on the monthly and yearly basis is given in the table below.

KVPY Exam Eligibility

Students studying in Class 11, 12 or 1st year of basic science course can apply for KVPY Exam. To be eligible for KVPY exam, the students must fulfill certain eligibility norms.

Check KVPY eligibility norms to be eligible for KVPY Exam 2018:

Stream SA – Students studying in Class 11 (Science Subjects) who have secured minimum 75% marks in aggregate in Maths & Science in Class 10 can apply for KVPY exam.

Stream SX – Students studying in Class 12 (Science Subjects) who have secured minimum 75% marks in aggregate in Maths & Science in Class 10 can apply for KVPY exam

Stream SB – Students studying in 1st year of undergraduate course in basic science who have secured minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Maths and Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in class 12 can apply for the exam.

KVPY Fellowship Eligibility

Students appearing for KVPY exam in Class 11 and 12 must note that the KVPY scholarship will only be activated if they join an undergraduate course in basic science (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc./Int.M.S.) after securing minimum 60% marks in science subjects in Class 12. For students appearing for KVPY in 1st year, the scholarship will only be activated if they secure 60% marks in their first year.

KVPY Application Form 2019

Candidates can apply for KVPY Exam 2019 by filling the online application form. The registrations have been started from 8 July and are open till 20 August 2019. There is no offline mode to register for KVPY exam. Before filling the KVPY application form, candidates are advised to check eligibility norms. Only those candidates will be able to apply for the scholarship exam who fulfill KVPY Eligibility Criteria. In KVPY Online Application form, candidates are required to fill their personal and academic details, choose test centre & upload photograph, signature & other certificates as applicable.

How to Fill KVPY Registration Form 2019

  • Visit the link give above to Register online for KVPY 
  • Read Instructions carefully and fill the registration form using your Mobile Number and Email
  • After Registration, you will receive your Login Id and password on your registered mobile number/email
  • Login with your credentials and fill KVPY application form including personal and academic details, test centre choice etc. 
  • Upload photo, signature and other certificates, as applicable
  • Pay application fees online using a credit/debit card or net banking.

Note: Once the payment is successful and application is submitted, no refund of application fee will be done.

KVPY Application Fee 2019

KVPY Application fee is Rs. 1000 for General Students and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PwD Students. Candidates can make payment for KVPY form through online (Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking) mode only.

KVPY Admit Card 2019

KVPY Admit Card 2019 will be available from the second week of October. Registered students will be able to download KVPY admit card online through their login details. KVPY admit card is a very important document to carry on the exam day as students will not be allowed to enter the examination hall without hall ticket. Students are advised to download KVPY Admit Card, verify details and take two printouts to keep for future use.

Step 2: Enter User ID and Password to login to your KVPY application form

Step 3: Click on “Admit Card”

Step 4: Select “Assessment” from the drop-down

KVPY Mock Test 

KVPY Mock Test is available for students who have never appeared in any computer-based test. As KVPY exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode, students can take KVPY mock test to get an idea how the screen will look like, how to use virtual calculator, how to save answer and move to the next question etc. To take mock test online, students can follow the link given below and click on sign in to start KVPY mock test.

KVPY Exam Pattern 

  • Language – KVPY Exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English language
  • Exam Mode – KVPY Test will be conducted online in Computer based mode
  • Exam Duration– The duration of the exam will be 3 hours
  • Total Marks – The question paper will consist of total 100 marks

SA (Class 11 students)

  • Part 1 has 60 questions, 15 questions of each Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Part 2 have 20 questions, 5 questions of each subject.
  • All the subjects are compulsory to attempt

SX/SB (Class 12 & 1st year Students)

  • Part 1 has 80 questions, 20 questions of each Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Part 2 have 40 questions, 10 questions of each subject.
  • Students can choose to attempt any 3 subjectsin Part 1 and any 2 subjects in Part 2

KVPY Syllabus 2019

KVPY Syllabus is not prescribed officially. KVPY written test aims to test student’s understanding and analytical ability than factual knowledge. Thus, students are advised to understand the concepts. Students appearing in Class 11 are advised to go through the NCERT syllabus of Class 9, 10, 11 and Students appearing in Class 12 or first year are advised to go through the syllabus up to Class 12/1st year as applicable.

KVPY Answer Key 2019

KVPY Answer key for all the streams SA, SX and SB have been released on 9 November 2018. Students appeared in KVPY exam can download KVPY answer key along with the question paper. On the basis of answer key, students can check their answers and calculate their scores. Students can raise objections by 15 November 2018. Further final KVPY answer key will be released in the first week of December 2018.

KVPY Result 2019

KVPY Result 2018 for written test is prepared on the basis of final answer key released. KVPY Test Result is released on 20 December 2018. Students can check KVPY Result (SA, SB, SX) through online mode. The shortlisted students in the written test will be called for the final interview round.

KVPY Cut Off 2019 – SA, SB, SX

KVPY Cut off is the minimum marks required to qualify the exam. The cut off for written test is declared category wise for all the 3 streams, SA, SX and SB. Based on the KVPY cut off, the students are shortlisted for the interview round.

KVPY Interview

Among the lakhs of students appearing for KVPY Exam, around 5000-6000 students get selected for the final interview round. The students are shortlisted for interview round on the basis of their performance in KVPY exam. KVPY Interviews are conducted in January. Students shortlisted in interview round become KVPY fellows. All the KVPY fellows get scholarship amount from the first year of their graduation in basic science course.

KVPY Final Result 2019

KVPY Result 2018 for both written test and interview has been declared on 23rd April 2019. Students can check their KVPY result online along with All India Rank list and Cut off marks. KVPY merit list is based on the marks obtained by a Candidate: 75 % of the marks in the Aptitude Test + 25 % of the marks in the Interview. The provisional list contains the name of the candidates selected for the KVPY Scholarship along with their Rank.
